On his return he was given the oversight of the [[College]] of Pernambuco, and in 1685 died at Bahia, where he held the position of rector. a Brazilian Jesuit and poet, was a native of Bahia. He taught theology, took charge of the novices of the Convent of Bahia, and went to Rome as attorney-general of the province of Brazil.
