Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature [1]

( Ἀτθαρίας ), a name given ( 1 Esdras 5:40) in connection with that of Nehemias (Nehemiah), evidently by the translator misunderstanding the title Tirshatha (q.v.) of the original text ( Ezra 2:63; comp.  Nehemiah 8:9).
