Joseph Russell Thompson [1]
a Presbyterian minister, was born Sept. 15, 1823. He received a good academical training, graduated at Jefferson College in 1848, and at the Associate Theological Seminary at Canonsburg, Pa., in 1851; was licensed by the Associate Presbytery of Chartiers in 1852, and ordained and installed pastor of the Mount Pleasant Church April 25, 1853.
