He was licensed to exhort in 1835, admitted on trial in the [[Michigan]] [[Conference]] in 1836, and was appointed to the Saline Circuit; 1837, Bean [[Creek]] mission; 1838, Marshall Circuit; 1839, ordained deacon and appointed to Grand Rapids mission; 1840, [[Lyons]] mission; 1841, superannuated; 1842, [[Albion]] Circuit; 1843, superannuated; 1844, ordained elder and appointed to [[Plymouth]] Circuit; 1845, Farmington Circuit; 1846, superannuated. He died Oct. 21, 1847. He was modest and unassuming; as a Christian, eminent; in his piety, more than in anything else, lay the secret of his usefulness.
