His next field of labor was in the [[Rocky]] [[Mountain]] Conference, he being appointed one of its two presiding elders. The rigor of the climate being too severe for his constitution, he was transferred to the [[Nebraska]] Conference, and stationed as pastor at Omaha, then at Lincoln, and three years later was made presiding elder of [[Omaha]] District. He died at Omaha, July 26, 1879. He published in 1876 a work of great ability, entitled Modern Genesis. a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in New York city in 1823.
