He was received on trial into the Rock [[River]] Conference, Aug. 25, 1841; ordained deacon in 1843, and elder in 1845. In 1848 the [[Wisconsin]] [[Conference]] was formed, and Mr. Searles became One of its members. He was superannuated for a short time, but became effective in 1852; superannuated in 1866, and active in 1867. His last appointment was Brandon, Wis., Where he died, Dec. 8, 1870.
