Here he remained five years, and in 1773 removed to the University of Wittenberg. In 1782 he was appointed professor of theology, and in 1784 preacher to the university and assessor of the consistory. In 1792 he was preacher to the court at Dresden, ecclesiastical counsellor and member of the supreme consistory, and held these positions until his death, Sept. 6,1812. He published, Sermons (Sulzbach, 1811, 36 vols.): — [[Christian]] [[Ethics]] (5 vols.): — Confessions, etc. </p>
