a French Protestant theologian, was born at Milhau, Aveyron, in 1790. He studied at Lausanne and Geneva, and was made a licentiate. of theology at the latter place, on presenting Disputatio Theolog. de Authentia Librorumn Novi Testamenti, in 1813. In 1814 he was called as pastor to Realmont, Tarn; in 1825 he was made professor of Church history at Montauban, and dean of the faculty in 1835.
