He graduated at Union College, and, after completing his theological studies, was ordained pastor of the Presbyterian [[Church]] at [[Galway]] in 1833, whence he went in 1838 to Pittsburgh, subsequently to Westfield, and finally to Poland, Ohio, where he labored with zeal and success for twenty- four years, until failing health obliged him to resign.
