Charles Mason [1]
a Protestant Episcopal clergyman, was born July 25, 1812, at Portsmouth, N.H. He graduated with honor from Harvard College in 1832; studied theology at the General Theological Seminary, New York city; was ordained deacon and priest by bishop Griswold; became rector of St. Peter's Church, Salem, Massachusetts, in May 1837: and of Grace Church, Boston, in 1847, which position he held until his death, March 23, 1862.
