a Presbyterian minister, was born at Hanover, Washington County, Pennsylvania, September 22, 1817. He graduated from Washington College in 1841, after which he entered upon,a course of theological training. He was licensed by the Presbytery of Washington in 1845. and ordained an evangelist; served for a time the churches of Wolf Run and Unity as a stated supply, and afterwards at Claysville, where he was installed, December 6, 1852.
