<p> (sometimes called Arnold), a monk of the order of St. Benedict, was born in Fifeshire, Scotland, in the reign of [[Alexander]] III, and educated with Sir [[William]] Wallace at the school of Dundee. He then went to Paris, studied in the university there, and joined the order of St. Benedict. He returned to [[Scotland]] and lived in retirement until Wallace became viceroy of the kingdom, when he became his chaplain. He wrote a history of Wallace's life, in Latin verse, about 1327. He died in 1782.
