Fenouillet (or Fenoillet), Pierre De
a French prelate, was born at: Annecy (Savoy), studied there, entered into orders, became theological tutor at Gap, and then went to Paris, where he became preacher to Henry IV. In 1607 he was nominated bishop of Montpellier, and in 1609 assisted at the Council of Narbonne; but he became so zealous for Romanism that the Protestants complained of his rigor, and he abandoned his diocese and joined the royal army, July 2, 1621.
