John Baptist David [1]
a Roman Catholic bishop. was born near Nantes, France, in 1760. He was made a priest of St. Sulpice in 1784; came to America with Flaget and Badin in 1792 as missionary in Maryland; in Kentucky in 1811 sq.; was bishop of 1Mauricastro in partibus and coadjutor of Bardstown in 1819; and died June 12, 1841.
