He was educated in the mission-school there, and, on a visit to America, entered Lafayette College, Easton, Pennsylvania, but was compelled to return to his native land without graduating. He continued his studies with the English missionaries; and, in 1865, was licensed by Furruckabad Presbytery, and stationed at Futtehpoor, where he died, May 2, 1867.
