In 1847 he united with the Church, was ordained in April, 1853, and for nearly twenty years was a faithful and laborious minister. Clark Spencer Butler [1]
a Baptist minister, was born in Montgomery County,;N. C., April 4, 1825. When about five years old he moved with his parents to Carroll County, Tenn., where he spent the most of his life. .He was a soldier in the Mexican war. In 1847 he united with the Church, was ordained in April, 1853, and for nearly twenty years was a faithful and laborious minister.
