His life as a pastor was spent chiefly with the churches at [[Smithfield]] and Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He also organized a church at Stewartstown. His travels, in his missionary tours, extended over several counties of [[Pennsylvania]] and sections of West [[Virginia]] and Ohio. He died January 18, 1859. He was a sound divine, an able preacher, and a fearless advocate of the truth, and his efforts were greatly blessed. See Cathcart, Baptist Encyclop. page 154. (J.C.S.) </p>
