During the three succeeding years he was principal of the New [[England]] Institute. New York city. In 1847 he received his medical i diploma from the New York University, and front 1851 until the close of his life he practiced medicine, for a time in New York, and afterwards in Hartford, Conn. a Congregational minister, was born at Alstead, N.H., September 12, 1810. He prepared for college at the Kimball Union Academy, and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1834. During the two following years he was a teacher at Nashua, and then attended theological lectures at New Haven, Conn. From 1838 to 1844 he was pastor of the Church at Hinsdale, N.H.
