He was converted in 1850; licensed to preach in 1851, and in 1852 entered, the Wabash [[Conference]] of the United [[Brethren]] Church, wherein he filled various charges in the pastorate and presiding eldership up to 1869, when he joined the North [[Indiana]] Conference. In 1871 he retired to his farm in Booae County, where his health gradually failed until his decease, early in 1873.
