He was converted in 1831; received license to exhort in 1833; and in 1843 was licensed to preach and admitted into the New Hampshire Conference. In 1840 he located, but in the following year resumed his active duties; in 1846 and 1847 he was superannuated, and thereafter spent his time in active work as health permitted, to the close of his life, Sept. 21, 1852. As a Christian, Mr. Blodgett was devoted; as a preacher, npractical, experimental, and successful; as a friend, beloved and lamented. See Minutes of Annual Conferences, 1853, p. 199. </p>
