a Congregational minister, was born at Chester, Vt., Jan. 24, 1809. He graduated at Dartmouth College in 1831, at Andover Theological Seminary in 1836; was ordained pastor at Collinsville, Conn., in 1839; was pastor there 1838-43; Chicopee Falls, 1843-46; Indian Orchard, Mass., 1858-61; East Boston, 1868-71; and Newtonville, Mass. 1871-81.
