was born in Yorkshire, and educated at St. John's College, Cambridge: he was eminent as a Hebraist, and was made regius professor of Hebrew at Paris. In 1554 he was made bishop of Lichfield and Coventry; in 1559 he was ejected by Quean Elizabeth, and very shortly after died at Islington.
