Felippo Alberic [1]
an Italian monk, was born at Mantua about 1470. He was commissioner at the court of Rome, and was sent by the pope, Julius II, to France, to England, and to Germany in order to combat the doctrines of Luther. He died at Naples in 1551. He wrote a History of the "Order of the Blessed Virgin:" a Life of St. Philip of Benisi, a Latin poem: — De Sacratissimo Christi CorporeperJudeanPenis Afflicto.
