He studied one year in Harpeth Academy, Tenn., and graduated at [[Columbia]] (now Jackson) University April 3, 1830. His conversion took place while at college, and his ministry was spent in the [[Indiana]] and afterwards in the Southeastern Indiana Conference. In 1865 ill health compelled him to take a superannuated relation, and he made his home in Brownstown, Ind., where he resided until his death, April 12, 1870. He represented his conference in the General [[Conference]] in 1864. His writings were published in the periodicals of the day.
