a Presbyterian minister, was born at Liberty, Va., March 13, 1834. After receiving a preparatory education, he entered the Union Theological Seminary in 1860, and, taking the full course, graduated in 1863. He was appointed — after he had been duly licensed by the New York Presbytery — a city missionary of New York, and remained in that office till he died, Oct. 6, 1863.
