an American divine of colonial days, flourished near the opening of the 18th century as pastor of a Baptist Church at Pittsfield, Conn., and later at Stonington, Conn., where he died in 1723. He was at one time a member of the Shaker community, but three months sufficed to satisfy him that his place was in other folds.
