He died of the great plague which ravaged Messina in 1743. </p>

On his return to Messina he was employed on several considerable fresco works for the church of Monte Vergine. This work is on a grand scale, and is highly commended for correctness of design. He died of the great plague which ravaged Messina in 1743.
