In 1709 he was ordained by Leon Briele rabbi of Mantua, and in 1721 he was called to the rabbinate at Ancona, where he died in 1740. He wrote, שות שמש צדקה, a collection of legal decisions (2 parts, Venice, 1742, 1743): עיוֹ הדעת , The Tree of Knowledge, a commentary on the ethical work of Jedaja Penini, entitled Bechinat Olam (Venice, 1704): — an approbation to [[Isaac]] Norzi's עטור בכורי קציר (ibid. 1715, 1717).
