<p> D.D., a Presbyterian minister, was born in [[Armagh]] County, Ireland, March 17,1787; graduated at the University of [[Pennsylvania]] in 1808, and studied theology under the Rev. Dr. John M. Mason, of the [[Associate]] Reformed Church; was licensed in 1812, and ordained pastor of the Presbyterian [[Church]] near Gettysburg, Pa., during which pastorate he became an Independent. In 1844 he accepted a call from the Reformed Dutch Church at Fort Plains, N. Y., and in 1852 emigrated to the West, and, in connection with his son-in-law, established a female seminary at Indianapolis, Ind. He died July 4,1860. See Wilson, Presb. Hist. Almanac, 1861, p. 101. </p>
