a Presbyterian minister, was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky, February 24, 1836. He graduated from Hanover College, Indiana, in 1858, and from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1862; was licensed by Philadelphia Central Presbytery the same year, and ordained an evangelist, April 11, 1864, by Ebenezer Presbytery, at Augusta, Kentucky.
