The following year he was a teacher in [[Palmyra]] [[College]] in Missouri. In 1867 he was appointed a missionary to, the German population in Maysville, Kentucky, and served in this relation until about 1870, when he was elected principal of St. John's Academy, Jacksonville, Florida, besides performing missionary work in adjacent places,. Here he remained until his death, which occurred December 8, 1872. See Prot. Episc. Almanac, 1873, page 134. </p>
