a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born in Saxony, October 12, 1707. He studied at Leipsic, was in 1733 deacon, received a call in 1738 to Amsterdam as pastor of the German congregation, but accepted the appointment as superintendent at Plauen. In 1746 he was called to Dresden as court-preacher and member of consistory, and died July 30, 1791.
