He was educated at [[Catherine]] Hall, Cambridge, of which he became fellow; and was successively prebendary of Salisbury, canon of Windsor, and dean of York. Twice in his life, if not oftener, he might have been advanced to the episcopal bench, but declined it. He died February 14, 1802. an English clergyman, was born at Merton, near Doncaster, about 1714. He was educated at Catherine Hall, Cambridge, of which he became fellow; and was successively prebendary of Salisbury, canon of Windsor, and dean of York.
