In 1821 he entered the New York [[Conference]] (which then extended into Vermont), in which he continued to labor with earnestness and success as pastor and evangelist until 1839; then in the [[Wisconsin]] Conference as presiding elder, Sundayschool and [[Bible]] agent, and pastor until 1846; then again as pastor in his former conference until his superannuation in 1866.
