a Presbyterian divine, was born at Strasburg, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, July 4, 1794, and educated at the University of Pennsylvailia. He was for many years pastor of Presbyterian churches in: Philadelphia, New York, and Detroit, and was an active leader of the New School movement. He died at Detroit, Mich., June 26, 1868.
