With the exception of four years as rector of St. Stephen's [[Church]] in Middlebury, Vermont, his entire ministry was spent in St. Luke's, Brooklyn. He was lost in the burning of the steamer Seawanhaka, off Randall's Island, N.Y., June 28, 1880, aged seventy years. See Whittaker, [[Almanac]] and Directory, 1881. </p>
