<p> a pioneer Presbyterian minister, was born in Ireland, September 21, 1710, but was educated in America. He was licensed by the [[Donegal]] [[Presbytery]] in 1738, sent to [[Deer]] Creek, Maryland, and in 1739 to Opequhon Irish Tract, and other places in western Virginia. In 1740 he was ordained pastor at [[Shenandoah]] and South River, resigned in 1754, and died April 21, 1774. He was a man mighty in the Scriptures, in perils often, in labors abundant. (W.P.S.) </p>
<p> a [[Baptist]] minister, was born in Dublin, Ireland. He came to Maryland, joined the Methodists, served on the British side in, the war of independence, went to Nova [[Scotia]] in 1784, travelled through the province as a preacher; was ordained pastor of a Baptist Church at [[Ragged]] Island; removed to [[Connecticut]] in 1732, and remained there two years.
