<p> (or Seiren), in Bavaria, called The Philosopher, a German chronicler, lived in the early part of the 13th century. He was a Benedictine, and became prior of his monastery. He wrote, Chronicon Schirense, that is, the chronicle of the abbey of Scheuern, from 1196 to 1226, published at [[Ingolstadt]] in 1623, and [[Strasburg]] in 1716. He wrote more than fifty volumes upon other matters. Aventin says that the works of Conrad, of which he gives a list, aided him greatly in completing his Annales. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog.
