He was converted at fifteen, entered upon a course of study at Parsonsfield, Me., was ordained June 2, 1842, and became pastor of the [[Church]] in Buxton. At once there was a remarkable revival of religion, but he was attacked with bleeding at the lungs, retired from active service, and, in August, 1843, went to Plainfield, N.
