In 1823 he entered upon the curacy of St. Nicholas, Lynn, and the evening lectureship at St. Margaret's; and in 1828 was appointed chaplain to the debtor's prison for London and Middlesex,- where, with the exception of six years as ordinary at Newgate, he spent the remainder of his life, and died Jan. 12, 1866.
