He was ordained pastor of the [[Church]] in Andover, Mass., and subsequently labored at Wilmington, Del., and Arlington, Mass. For ten years he was chaplain of the [[Massachusetts]] State Prison. a Baptist minister, was born in Boston in 1812. He studied for a time at Amherst College, and also at Brown University, but did not graduate. He was ordained pastor of the Church in Andover, Mass., and subsequently labored at Wilmington, Del., and Arlington, Mass. For ten years he was chaplain of the Massachusetts State Prison.
