He was pastor at Carlisle, Pennsylvania, in 1763-68; also at Middletown, 1765-68; Hummelstown, 1765-67; Falling Spring, 1765-68; and at Lebanon, etc., 1768-80, where he suddenly died, August 15, 1780. He was remarkable for having acquired a rich flow of language and unprecedented copiousness and energy of thought, which rendered him useful, and attracted the attention of all who heard him.
