While there he was connected for a short time with the Lutheran Muhlenberg Mission, but soon returned to [[America]] to prepare himself for missionary work. He spent three years studying at the Missionary Institute, and for a time was engaged as an agent for the American [[Tract]] Society. He died at Milton, Pennsylvania, June 30, 1871.
