<p> a Methodist Episcopal minister, son of [[Reverend]] Sullivan Bray, was born at Winslow, Maine, December 26, 1840. He. was converted in early life; received a careful Methodist training, having rare opportunities for understanding the doctrines, usages, and genius of the Church; and began his ministerial career as supply at [[Cushing]] in 1867, under the auspices of the East [[Maine]] Conference. His after appointments were 1868, Westport and Arrowsic as supply; then in succession, [[Bremen]] and Round Pound, Clinton and Benton, and in 1873, Woolwich.
