<p> a Congregational minister, was born in Boston, in June, 1838. For a year after the close of his college course at Yale (1860), he was an instructor in Florida. In the fall of 1861 he entered the seminary at Princeton, where he remained through the winter and then went to Keene, N. H. He at once began to preach in the neighboring town of Roxbury, taking also an active part in the Sunday-schools of that neighborhood.
