He was trained at [[Magdalen]] College, Oxford, of which he became fellow and doctor of divinity, and was preferred archdeacon of Taunton. an English prelate of the early part of the 17th century, came from "a worshipful family" of Spargrave, Somersetshire. He was trained at Magdalen College, Oxford, of which he became fellow and doctor of divinity, and was preferred archdeacon of Taunton.
