Bishopric [1]

( Ἐπισκοπή , Oversight,  Acts 1:20), ministerial charge in the Church. In later times it came to mean

(1) the office and function of a bishop (q.v.), and

(2) the district over which he has jurisdiction. (See Diocese); (See Episcopacy).
