He experienced conversion in 1828; soon after received license to exhort; in 1836 to preach; and in 1844 entered the Oneida Conference. During the following twenty-one years he was consecrated, active, and useful. He spent the last thirteen years in retirement from active service, and died in Cazenovia, N. Y., Aug. 20, 1875. Mr. Blakeslee was a man of fine thought, gentle spirit, and devotedness. See Minutes of Annual Conferences, 1875, p. 120. </p>
