He became fellow of Merton College, and took holy orders. In 1724 he was appointed preacher to the Charter-house, and in 1738 one of the king's chaplains. In 1743 he became rector of Stormouth, in Kent, and master of the Charter-house, Dec. 18, 1753. He died Nov. 17, 1761. His only published work was a Historical Account of [[Thomas]] Sutton, Esq., and of his [[Foundation]] in the. Charter-house (London, 1737). See Chalmers, Biog. Dict. s.v. </p>
