He removed in early life with his parents to Ohio, experienced conversion in his nineteenth year, and in 1823 entered the Ohio Conference. He labored twelve years in Ohio, and thirty-two in Michigan. He was a true pioneer preacher. Mr. Baughman died in Detroit, Mich., March 1, 1868. He was a man of extraordinary physical strength, with a trumpet voice, cheerful temper, and untiring energy; a favorite both among children and adults.
